Over her long life Louise lived in in many locations, most of which were royal residences. I have tried to obtain originals of letters from these various locations or in some cases letters to them.
Whilst having been born in Buckingham Palace on the 14th March 1848 by 8th April Louise was on her way to Osborne House for the first of many visits. The Royal family were in fact fleeing from the Chartists uprising in London. For the rest of her teenage years she lived in turn each year at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Osborne and Balmoral. Following her marriage she and her husband purchased Dornden in Tunbridge Wells described by Louise as ‘her little place in the country’.
